Hi Liz, thanks for your mention and linking to my Monster Building article. I've been MIA for a while. Look forward to catching up with your writing and that of the other writers you mentioned here. Hope you're well!
We try to keep readers in the loop about what's happening in Southeast Asia's business scene with a curated daily news summary. If you're someone who's always on the go but still wants to keep a finger on the pulse of the region, check it out. Feedback always warmly welcomed.
omg these are great!!!! i love digging and finding cultural gems but sometimes they can be hard to find. like for example i managed to stumble across this gold mine chaoyang trap last week (about online culture in china) and have been addicted to reading their backlog of long form posts but too bad they’ve stopped publishing :’)) (link here if you’re interested https://chaoyang.substack.com)
Thanks for letting me know about that Substack! So sad they've stopped writing however, but I have an archive to plunder 😉
Yea the Substacks I shared were very hard to find. Some of them I stumbled on Notes, some by literally going to the bottom of a category and clicking on those that interest me. Oddly I find that by searching for (country) + Substack on Google, I do dig up gems.
oooh i should try that, thanks for the tip! yes i do realise that searching “keyword” + substack on google is better than the search function on substack’s itself… hopefully something we will see improve here in the future !
Thanks for the suggestions, I try to read something a little new when I can but I'm not good at seeking out things outside my circles.
I hope you enjoy them like I do :)
Thank you so much, Liz. These look great! I will add some to my feed. Please do more posts like this again :)
Definitely! I always have new unique Substacks from the East to recommend. Got another edition coming up!

Hey, take your time, I've been MIA myself social media wise, so I get it. ;) See you when I see you!
Thank you for the mention, Liz!
😘 Always happy to do so, Sharmila!
Thank you for including my newsletter, Elizabeth!
You're totally welcome!
Hey, thanks for this! Very cool. Anthony Tao in Beijing is very cool, and I never would have found him otherwise. And Substack needs more poetry!
