I am curious, do you normally have those triangular dumplings available? You posted this article as the dragon boat festival just passed a couple weeks ago.
Here in Vietnam, there is special food for the dragon boat festival (around June 10) called "Bánh Ú". It is sticky rice with a bit of that dreaded pork belly you mentioned and maybe salted egg, similar to how you described it in a triangular dumpling. Delicious!
Elizabeth,
The Tang dynasty music was so good. The best!

It's so delicate and beautiful, isn't it?
The word I would use to describe it is ethereal, extremely delicate, and light, in a way that seems too perfect for this world.
Nyonya chang, bak chang, they all sound good to me!
Haha yes, they are the best. I'm so spoiled as i can get them from the market every week, but I hope you can taste them one day.

We have these dumplings all year round not just on special occasions 😉. The lady at this market has it all the time, basically.
