Hello friends,
Welp, it happened! Every email marketer’s nightmare - you send out an email to your subscribers only for it to contain … a broken link. (Crickets)
Fortunately, I realised it the moment the newsletter went out.
Unfortunately, I was stuck at the parents’ without a laptop!
But got home I did and this email is the result. Very sorry for the snafu! I have a spotty memory. Something always gives when I have a busy week, especially on a day when I had to chauffeur my parents to the vaccination centre to get their life-saving COVID-19 vaccinations!
If you have been forwarded this newsletter, welcome! If you have not subscribed, you can do so below. Subscribers can access exclusive content and are notified of new essays on my website.

Here’s the article: The rise of Substack
Substack, the email marketing service/tool, has been getting a lot of hype lately. Some say it’s the saviour of journalism. I personally wouldn’t go that far, but it is certainly empowering content creators and creative entrepreneurs to reach their audiences cheaply (free, actually) and directly. It even gives them a way to create another income stream! In the article, Email’s hottest trend: The Substack newsletter, I explore how Substack and other services like that can benefit writers and readers.
Something to make you chuckle
I can’t get over this doggo. Like my belated pooch Nicky, I admire his rubber-like flexibility!

Have a great weekend!
Love,
Liz.
